The Health and Textile Association is carrying out an as orderly and complete as possible collection of mandatory regulations and laws which control the eco-toxicological parameters of textile products at a national level, both within and outside Europe.
The work already done shows a series of regulations, most of which originated from specific needs, that create a rather complex set.
A working group of the Association has examined the different existing ecological labels (private marks, national marks, purchasing specifications of big companies) and it has drawn up, on a technical-scientific base, a list of parameters to comply with, according to the described limitations, in the textiles production.
The document that aims at being a consumers' protection instrument is to be considered the starting point for an ongoing research activity on the substances that shall be analysed and controlled in end-products.
