The Associazione Tessile e Salute, set up in 2000 in Biella by Cittā degli Studi S.p.A., ASL 12 (Local Health Unit) of Biella and CNR-ISMAC section of Biella, today gathers physicians' and entrepreneurs' associations, enterprises, research centres and universities. All these different actors share a common objective: developing textiles able to improve the quality of our life.
During these years the activity of the Association has been mainly devoted to two objectives: defining qualitative standards of textile materials in order to guarantee atoxicity and well-being when in contact with our skin and, of course, promoting public awareness and scientific dissemination.
The main objective of the annual Forum is presenting to the participants the results of recently carried out researches and giving visibility to innovations in the production and research fields.
Forum award: the Associazione Tessile e Salute launches a competition open to students, undergraduates, graduates and researchers on the theme: "When textile improve the quality of our life". The works (studies, product projects, prototypes, videos) must be sent to the forum secretariat by February 20th, 2004.
The authors whose projects are judged the most interesting and innovative by the Board will receive a prize.
