The emergency situation linked to the COVID pandemic, the Green Deal and the European strategy, outlined by the Next Generation EU, pose 'epochal' challenges to the production sectors.
Tessile e Salute is a candidate to be a reference player thanks to the publication of the 'Manifesto for Research and Testing of Textile Products for Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation' and the launch of a specific National Working Group.


Guidelines on eco-toxicological requirements for chemical mixtures and industrial discharges of manufacturing companies

Document produced by the working group consisting of the CNMI Commission for Sustainability and the Sustainability Table set up by CNMI in 2011.
Partners: Sistema Moda Italia, Textile and Health Association, AISPEC, Federchimica, UNIC.
Other contributors: the CNMI / SMI Joint Commission on Chemicals.
First and fundamental objective to give companies an unambiguous reference and, at the same time, a tool to promote Made in Italy.

Document produced by the working group consisting of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and the Textile and Health Association, in collaboration with SMI-Italy Fashion System and with the contribution of Federchimica and UNIC-Unione Nazionale Industria Conciaria (National Union of Tanning Industry).
First and fundamental objective to give companies an unequivocal reference and, at the same time, an instrument to promote Made in Italy.


Comparative analysis between Europe and the United States of the Eco-Toxicological Standards in the textile, clothing, leather / footwear, footwear sectors

Report prepared by the Textile and Health Association as part of the program of extraordinary promotion of Made in Italy, promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development and implemented by the ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies.
Deepening aimed at the negotiations for the definition of a free trade agreement between Europe and the United States (TTIP Agreement) and the definition of a certain framework in terms of rules and technical standards in the US market, a primary outlet for Italian exports related to Fashion sectors.

Report "Chemical substances in textile products and allergic reactions".

Year: 2013

Drafted at the request of the European Commission DG Enterprise, it studies the pathological effects of certain chemical substances present in textile articles.


"Activities aimed at strengthening skills in research, protection and governance of risk factors in skin diseases resulting from contact of textile products with leather - part two"

Year: 2011-2012

Project funded by the Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation with the aim of creating a consumer protection network, which has its roots in research and protection of public health, in order to guarantee the placing on the market of safe products.

Annual project, financed by the 'Regional Desk for the presentation and funding of health promotion projects and health education of general interest and not already included in other programs.


Report "Chemical substances and their manner of use in the italian textile supply chain" (Realized in collaboration with SMI and Federchimica).

Year: 2010

Approved by the Ministries of Health, Economic Development and the Environment, it allows to define the specific uses, the scenarios and the methods of exposure of chemical substances in line with the European REACH Regulation.


Standard UNI/TR 11359 "Safety management of textiles, clothing, footwear, leather and accessories".

Year: 2010

The Association coordinated the UNI working group that published UNI / TR 11359 in 2010. This standard systematically analyzes the problem of the safety of textile products and provides information to producers on the methodologies for designing and creating a safe article.

Database of chemicals

Made over the years in collaboration with the Higher Institute of Health. It identifies and currently records more than 10,000 commercial preparations, refereble to 2000 basic substances, used in production processes and present in the final product.
